Kokanee Creek Nature Centre
The EcoSociety provides daily nature programs at the Kokanee Nature Centre, located in Kokanee Creek Provincial Park, throughout the summer. Nature and conservation educational programming is offered for children, young adults, and adults. The Centre also provides refreshments and is open from 9am-9pm.

Keep Jumbo Wild!
A proposal for a new resort town in the Jumbo Valley of the East Kootenays threatens core habitat for grizzlies and other endangered species. EcoSociety pursued a legal challenge to the validity of a municipality, complete with an appointed mayor, with no residents living in the area. Unfortunately, EcoSociety lost this challenge in 2016. The Ktunaxa Nation is preparing for a Supreme Court of Canada appeal to the ruling that the Government of BC had reasonably consulted with the First Nation on the development of the proposed resort in the Jumbo valley.
